When We Are Closed

The practice has a system to allow patients to contact the out-of-hour’s service by making no more than one telephone call. To access this service please dial the surgery on 01473 610028 to be automatically transferred.

All calls are then received by a team of trained reception staff under the direct supervision of a doctor. Your call will be assessed and appropriate action taken – whether telephone advice, consultation with a doctor at the co-operative’s base office, or home visit by one of the duty doctors who is in constant radio contact with the base.

We do everything possible to ensure that our system for contacting the duty doctor is easy to follow, reliable and effective. Patients who are terminally ill or who have special needs are provided with 24 hour care.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
